Basic Job Duties:

The Senior Human Resources Generalist works in partnership with the Human Resources Director to develop and implement human resources procedures and strategies. Under moderate supervision, the Senior Human Resources Generalist focuses on staffing, talent acquisition, employment processing, compensation and benefits administration, records management, employee relations, and regulatory compliance.

  • Coordinates recruitment activities to include posting open positions, monitoring applicants, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, extending employment offers, and conducting pre-employment testing and verifications
  • Supports and maintains relationships with local educational institutions and staffing agencies to ensure a qualified and continuous talent pipeline
  • Responsible for onboarding including new employee orientation, paperwork, introductions, tours and initial assignments
  • Administers the Employee Handbook and supports the management team on enforcing policy
  • Prepares and maintains all employee files and documentation, ensuring accurate record-keeping and retention
  • Administers employee benefit programs, answers benefit-related questions, ensures accurate and effective enrollments, maintains positive relationship with insurance brokers and carriers, and coordinates the annual open enrollment process
  • Administers Family and Medical Leave pursuant to state and federal regulations, and ensures accurate documentation and tracking
  • Develops effective working relationships with management and employees in order to influence and coach them on effective employment practices
  • Prepares performance review information for management and notify managers/supervisors when reviews are due
  • Oversees performance management, tracking feedback and disciplinary documentation
  • Assists management on exit strategies and employee terminations
  • Schedules and tracks approved PTO requests companywide
  • Tracks attendance

Secondary Functions:

  • Processes bi-weekly payroll
  • May deploy training to inform or assist employees and/or managers on job-related activities, policies or best practices
  • Supports wellness activities including health promotion activities, healthy behavior programs, and health assessments/screenings
  • Communicates personnel and policy changes to employees as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources preferred
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years progressive HR experience; preferably within a manufacturing environment
